Insurance Requirements for Visitors
Under the new rules, visitors must be able to present an insurance policy in electronic or printed form, issued in Georgian or English. The policy must provide coverage of no less than 30,000 GEL and remain valid for the entire duration of the stay, from entry into Georgia until departure. Insurance policies may be issued by either local or foreign insurance providers.
The insurance document must clearly indicate the parties to the contract, the covered territory, the subject and duration of the insurance, insured risks, coverage limits, as well as the insurance premium amount and payment terms.
Travelers are advised to ensure that their insurance remains valid throughout their visit, including both arrival and exit dates.
Exemptions from Mandatory Insurance
The mandatory insurance requirement will not apply to holders of diplomatic or special visas, individuals traveling with diplomatic, official, service, or special passports, accredited staff of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and international organizations along with their family members, persons entering Georgia under international agreements, or drivers involved in international freight and passenger transportation.
